“Formal education will make you a living; self-education will make you a fortune.” – Jim Rohn
Self-education is broad.
I’ve been reading a book called the $100 startup. It talks about how at this age of technology, doing business is not the same way as it used to be, many people with little to no investments are able to start up a thriving business.
This unconventional method is backed up by his case studies (1500 individuals to be precise) of many other entrepreneurs who have done so and succeeded, who have replaced their 9 to 5 jobs with their microbusiness.
You have enough money for a living. Let’s say you have $300 to spare every month, what would you do?
- Save it up for future consumption.
- Use it right away on goods you want to buy.
- Invest it e.g. stocks, forex.
Out of everything, I’d choose none of it. I’d choose starting up a business.
A business that will make you a fortune, that when grown properly can replace your day job.
I will not advertise the book, or reveal what’s hidden in the chapters. All I will tell you is that if you are on the same line with me, you’d choose to start up a business and you have little capital to do so, and you wouldn’t choose any of the options above…
…I urge you to read the wisdom inside the book.
Get The $100 Startup.
I don’t normally affiliate for books, but this book is so great that I decide to. By the way, Mind Fuels has a special page for books that I once read and highly recommend you to check them out. (there are links to summaries and PDFs – all free for the public)
Okay, books aside.
Close this page if you believe formal education as in getting a college degree is the root success to life. But if you believe making a fortune while doing something related to your passion is, then you’re with me.
No seriously, get the book. It has information that no one will tell you in highschool or in college, it will change your mindset and teach you how to do what you love in life and find a way to get paid for it.
Jim Rohn is right. Read his rags to riches story.
